The BbY WOW Dance: Who Started It, the Song and the Moves

Everything about the viral BbY WOW dance: the LOS MENOR3S backstage clip, the KAROL G song and TikTok sound behind it, the moves step by step, and how to make your own.

Last updated: 2026-10-21

The BbY WOW dance (also searched as “baby wow dance”) is the TikTok trend where people groove in front of a phone propped low on the floor to “BbY WOW” by KAROL G, Judeline & rusowsky, then put both hands on top of their heads when the phrase changes. It started with a clip of about 7 seconds that the Venezuelan group LOS MENOR3S posted on Aug 24, 2026. If you’d rather not film it yourself, BbY WOW AI turns one photo of you, your friends or your pet into an AI version of the dance, with the real song on it.

Who Started the BbY WOW Dance?

The BbY WOW dance was started by LOS MENOR3S, a Venezuelan group made up of Big Bowe, Nego and Sheba. Big Bowe filmed it backstage at a Rawayana concert. In an interview with Remezcla, the group said they “started recording on our phone and did a little dance to it”, that they aren’t dancers, and that none of it was planned.

The first clip went up on TikTok on Aug 24, 2026, from Big Bowe’s account @bigbowee. It shows two of them in a plain grey backstage room, dancing toward a phone propped low on the floor, one of them holding a red cup. The same day, the group posted a second take on their own account, @losmenor3s, this time with all three of them outdoors.

You may also see people credit a streamer known as “maestro Shifu”, whose take on it became another popular version. The dance itself goes back to the LOS MENOR3S clip.

The Song: “BbY WOW” by KAROL G, Judeline & rusowsky

“BbY WOW” is a track from KAROL G’s album NO ME ARREPIENTO DE SENTIR TANTO, released on Aug 7, 2026 by Bichota Records / Interscope (discography); Apple Music lists the single on Aug 5, 2026. It runs 3:46, and the credited producers are Judeline, rusowsky, KAROL G, Tainy and Omer Fedi. The beat reworks the Coolie Dance Riddim (Songfacts), which is why so many people search for what it samples.

The song is about a heartbroken night out at the club. The chorus hook is “baby wow, me gustas demasiado”, roughly “baby wow, I like you way too much”, and “BbY WOW” is simply the text-speak spelling of “baby wow”. The TikTok sound uses the part with the line “dime dime baby”, so plenty of people know the trend by that name too.

It became a major hit on the charts:

  • No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs on the chart dated Aug 29, 2026, KAROL G’s 11th No. 1 there (Latin Times).
  • No. 1 on Spotify’s global daily chart, first on Aug 28, 2026 (La República), and later more than 31 days at No. 1 on Spotify Global (Remezcla).
  • A peak of No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, the all-genre chart.

The TikTok Sound Behind the Trend

Most BbY WOW videos don’t use the full song but one sound: “sonido original – ElRolitas”, a 48-second stretch of the studio track that @elrolitas99 posted on Aug 12, 2026. By October 2026 it was used in about 2.2 million videos (sound page on TikTok), and KAROL G used the same sound for her own challenge post. On Instagram, people find it by searching “BbY WOW” in the Reels audio library.

Why It Went Viral

The BbY WOW dance spread because anyone can do it and the artist joined in. A few things came together:

  • It’s easy to copy. There’s no real choreography: a phone on the floor, a relaxed bounce and one big pose with your hands on your head. You don’t need to be a dancer.
  • It looks unplanned, because it was. Two friends goofing around backstage feels more fun to copy than a polished routine.
  • KAROL G danced it with its creators. At her Boston show on Sept 12, 2026, she brought Big Bowe and Sheba on stage to do it with her, and on Sept 13 she posted “THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE” with them on TikTok.
  • AI versions took it everywhere. Creators made AI grannies, puppies, kittens and other characters do the moves, like the clips on this page.

One viral clip shows the footballer Erling Haaland “doing the dance”, but Vanguardia reported that it was made with AI. It isn’t real footage of him.

The BbY WOW Dance Moves, Step by Step

LOS MENOR3S improvised it, so there’s no official choreography. These are the moves most versions copy, from the original clip and KAROL G’s version:

  1. The groove. Face a phone propped low on the floor. Keep your knees soft and bounce on every beat, sway your weight from side to side, keep your shoulders loose and move your open hands at chest height, as if you’re talking.
  2. The signature pose. When the phrase changes, put both hands up on top of or behind your head, elbows out wide, and push your chest and hips forward.
  3. The lean. Lean in toward the camera, laugh, then bounce back up, flicking one hand up beside your face.
  4. KAROL G’s ending. Drop into a low, wide stance with your knees bent out and your hands loose at your waist, wrists drooping, with a small bounce. Put your hands on your head again as your hips drop, then point one arm straight up to finish.

After that, people improvise their own ending. The original clip is only about 7 seconds and loops, and most fan videos run 6 to 15 seconds. The easiest way to learn it is a slowed, mirrored tutorial like this one on TikTok. Our how-to guide has the full walkthrough, from phone set-up to posting.

Is It the Same as the “BbY WOW Guy” Meme?

No, the “BbY WOW guy” is a different meme. Also called “Dominican papi”, it’s a 2025 clip by Eve Ramírez (@eve.el.cholo) dancing at a quinceañera and biting a concha, first posted on July 24, 2025 with different audio. In 2026 people re-edited it with “BbY WOW” and made AI face-swap versions of it. BbY WOW AI makes the LOS MENOR3S dance, not that clip, which has minors in the background.

How the AI Version Works

The AI version isn’t cut from the original clip. An AI video model (Seedance 2.0 Mini by ByteDance) animates your photo from a written description of the routine, so it doesn’t copy the LOS MENOR3S video frame by frame and doesn’t paste your face into it.

What comes from the trend:

  • The moves: the bounce, the hands-on-head pose and the lean toward the camera.
  • The camera: a vertical 9:16 shot from a phone propped low on the floor.
  • The look: a plain grey backstage room like the original. The model sometimes keeps the background of your photo instead, so the exact backdrop can vary.
  • The song: the real “BbY WOW”, the same stretch of the studio track the TikTok sound uses. The dance is rendered silent and we add the song on our server before you get the video, so it’s never a soundalike.

What comes from your photo:

  • The dancer: you, a friend or your pet, as they look in the photo.
  • The group: with 2 photos, the two of you dance side by side, in sync, like the two friends in the original clip; with 3 photos, the three of you dance in a row, like KAROL G’s own version with LOS MENOR3S. Everyone does every move together for the whole clip.

Make Your Own Version

To make your own BbY WOW video, upload one photo to the generator on the homepage, pick 6, 10 or 15 seconds and wait a few minutes. A 6-second video costs 6 credits, 10 seconds costs 13 and the full 15-second routine costs 20. You get a vertical MP4 in 720p, saved to your account, ready to download or share to TikTok. • Don’t use photos of celebrities, politicians or other public figures.
  • Label your clip as AI-generated when you post it.
  • Credit the dance to LOS MENOR3S and the song to KAROL G, Judeline & rusowsky.
